I take a long shower and collect my thoughts. Sometimes I need to look at a piece of paper with emotions on it, and pick the one I am feeling.

Trust your gut instincts! Spend some time alone to analyse your emotions, eg labelling them, and identifying what makes you feel that way. Be familiar with the feelings so that you'll know the next time :)

Sometimes it is really hard to express what you may be feeling! I have found that looking up lists of feelings words has really helped. Also, it takes some time! Sometimes you really have to sit and think about what you are feeling, talk it out with yourself. At first you may think that you are feeling sad, but after some thought you realize that you are actually lonely, or bored!

For a long time I had difficulty with this question and sometimes the answer differs. One of the ways I tried to figure it out is by journaling and try not to analyze anything. Just write down anything that comes to mind. if you like to paint or draw, do it. If you feel like just throwing paint onto a paper, do it. Another way I tried to figure it out is just exercising and letting any thoughts into my mind. I would practice not getting mad or frustrated when my thoughts were not "productive" at letting me identify my feelings but just feel the emotion and think the thoughts happening. You can try to place yourself in a calm setting and be with yourself.
