Isolation is being by yourself, and you aren't always necessarily lonely when isolated. Isolation can be peaceful, and it's healthy to have alone time every now and then. Loneliness is feeling alone, or others making you feel alone. You can very easily be surrounded by people whether they genuinely care or not, and still feel utterly alone; because you feel they don't really know you, or you doubt their true motives/sincerity.

Isolation is when you are forced into a corner with no one to turn to. If you looked at it as a level of loneliness, it is probably the highest level. Loneliness, on the other hand, covers a much larger area of this; if you are lonely it means you don't have many people to turn to but when you are isolated, you are forced on your own.

Isolation is when you are either forcefully or knowingly kept away from the world outside... On the other hand, you can be in a room full of laughing people and still be lonely without being forcefully made to do so. Loneliness is an emotion.

I guess Isolation is a chosen state where one person does it from the conscious mind knowing that this process can bring some relief or he can get some time to heal. However, Loneliness comes or enters life with or without choice and is sometimes causing stress n impacts life as per the person's wish n will power.

I'd say Isolation is about being alone by choice - it's you wanting to be alone, not talking to others, not being Close to others. All alone. Loneliness is different however. Because being lonely means to miss contact. It means wanting to have contact to others. If you're lonely you want it to end, if you Isolate yourself you may think it's the better choice. There's forced Isolation too, of course. It would be no other than Loneliness in this case though.

Isolation is the act of being aside from other people (whether you are being rejected or are deciding to do so), whereas loneliness can be seen as a profound feeling of misunderstanding and lack of company, no matter how surrounded you can be.

Loneliness is something you can feel as a result of being isolated. Isolation is commonly linked with anxiety and depression and is seen as a lack of socialization with others, but you can still feel lonely in a room full of people. Most people feel lonely at some point during their lives, if you do feel lonely, seek support and maybe even read the self-help guides :)

Isolation is done with a purpose. Loneliness is a feeling that you cannot easily control, and you may feel lonely no matter how many people are surrounding you.
