You can start by examining what is making you sad. Has something happened to make you sad, or are you just thinking sad thoughts. If you have a kind and loving mom and if you have a good relationship with her you might just go and talk to her. Tell her why you are sad and what is affecting you. Just you talking to her about those things may help draw you closer together and that in itself makes your mom feel better. Also, just realize that there are times when it is okay to be sad.
Another thought is it try changing your attitude. If you find your mom getting sad whenever you are sad then it might be helpful to change your attitude so that you are no longer sad. How would you do that you may ask? Well there are several things you can do. For example, you can start by making a list of the things that you have to be thankful for, and there are a lot of them. Then think about these things. Another thing you can do is go hug your mom and kiss her and tell her how much you love her. In addition to that you can help clean up the kitchen, wash the dishes, help pick up around the house with a cheerful attitude. By you willingly doing these things without being asked will make your mom feel closer to you and that will help cheer her up. And, yes you can control your attitude. You often become sad because you are thinking sad thoughts. To change from being sad think happy thoughts.
