Anyone can experience domestic violence : no need to be physically or psychologicaly vulnerable. Everyone can fall under the abuse of a manipulative person. Some really strong and balanced people can get totally destroyed by manipulative narcissists, and there is absolutely no shame of experiencing it. It often builds up really slowly, and the psychological harm can increase without being noticed... Statistically, people who experience domestic violence the most are women, especially disable women, and people having already experienced abuse in their life, because of all a system of male domination, since women are raised to please others before themselves, to not express consent etc.. and men are raised to supress their emotions (except anger and violence), to be in charge etc...

Anyone can experience domestic violence, regardless of gender, age, sexuality, religion, cultural background, job, lifestyle and so forth. Anyone can experience and suffer from domestic violence, even if they are not the direct victim of domestic violence, or the direct attacker. Domestic Violence has a huge impact on the community and those around us, and it is therefore important to remember that we are all as one, and feel as one. The breakdown of any community at home, is the breakdown of a community as a whole, and it is these home communities and local communities that build bigger communities, and country-wide communities, then world-wide communities, and are home to the very people who make our world work.

Domestic violence doesn't need a family setting: people of any age, in any type of relationship is at risk, and that may be what makes domestic violence so dangerous. I have experienced domestic violence, and I can tell you for sure that if you are going through it, you need to get help.
