It's all hormones girl! Every girl has different reactions to the burst of chemicals into our brains so this is just what happens to you. I have a friend who has something called Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) which might be an explanation if your depression is severe. It might sound scary but I promise you it's nothing but a fancy-schmancy name for feeling very depressed before your period.

The hormones involved when you're having your period or just before can trigger a whirlwind of emotions and one of those can cause the feeling of intense sadness. It is entirely normal but if you feel the sadness no longer lifts after your period, you may be falling into depression that's not caused by hormonal activity, in which you should see a doctor about.

i reach my period very irregularly but whenever i reach it, i suffer incredibly bad mood swings and I get very annoyed very easily, and it sucks because i take it out on people and I feel really bad about it after I've calmed down.

Sometimes your hormones go a little crazy right before a period. Maybe try to go out with some friends or maybe even eat one of your favorite meals!!! That should sure boose your attitude! :-)
