Hormones in your brain can cause you to suddenly feel depressed. Especially as a young adult, your brain is growing from being a child's brain to a fully formed one, and many of the electrodes get messed up. When this happens, you may feel mood swings, or sudden depression. It may only last a day, but sometimes it can last much longer than that.

. Maybe theres an incident which is the cause of your depression. Or maybe you just dont have anything to do. I mean to something fun and that will at least keep you engaged for sometime. Like go to the mall, watch a movie, read a book, study, go out with your friends for lunch, exercise. Maybe you're overthinking stuff too much. I know cause thats a problem with me. Dont think about people who dont care about you. Cause you're wasting your time while they're probably having the time of their lives. Basically stop thinking about how sad you are and how you cant do anything. Stop being depressed. You arent useless. If you were god wouldnt have gotten you into this world. Everyones here for a reason. Do something that makes you happy.

There could be many reasons. When I feel depressed out of nowhere, it's usually because I have been keeping negative thoughts and emotions bottled up. If you ignore your negative feelings, those negative feelings will still find their way to get out. This often leads to a depressive episode, a mental break down, anxiety attack or really aggressive and irritated behaviour (every person is different!). I often don't even notice that I am repressing some thoughts or feelings. Because that's how I have learned to cope since I was little. Going to therapy and actually talking about the thoughts that bother me and negative things that happen(ed) to me, really helped me. It could also be that you feel depressed out of nowhere because of a chemical imbalance or a hormonal imbalance. That's why seeing a professional can be really helpful with finding out why you are actually feeling this way. Figuring out why you feel depressed all out of sudden can be really hard. Keeping a journal with your thoughts and feelings can be very helpful to pin point what exactly goes on in your mind and what might have triggered this depressive episode. Some people also start feeling depressed because they haven't been taking good care of themselves. It's important to take mental health days and to actually talk about the things that bother you. If you ever need someone to talk to, we are here. We have a big community of listeners who are here to hear your story.

It's totally normal. according to psychology, one of the possible reasons you feel like this is because you could be missing someone, there's not always a reason, sometimes you just need a break and some time to chill
