I always feel upset when everything is fine because of the mental illnesses I have and the way I was born. It is not my fault that I overthink or have mood swings. My depression comes in unexpected waves that bury me deep within the sand. Whether I just got a new car or won a million dollars, my unexpected depression will always be there. This is not my fault.

I think it happens a lot to me too. If I have nothing to do, I am easily upset, I become more emotional. But when I am busy, I am happy. So I always try to be as busy as I can to be happy. Sometimes it's not always what people thin about you. You have to try to be the better you. Accept your flaws, be grateful for what you have, make everyday counts. I think it's all cliche but I've felt those all.

Do you think that what you may be experiencing is depression? If you believe that this is the case, then I would advise speaking with a therapist or psychiatrist. Speaking with them may help you figure out the root of your unhappiness as well as ways to reduce/eliminate the negative feelings that you have. Sometimes, even though we may have everything that we can possibly need, we still feel an underlying sense of emptiness and/or dread. It isn't that we are not grateful for what we have, but it feels as if something is just not right.

It could be that you are not in touch with your emotions, the ones that make you upset. We sometimes think we should be fine because externally, everything seems in order, in its right place. But, often the reality is that there is something, possibly not in our awareness or conscious that acts as a splinter in our mind, wiggling around in there, suggesting something needs to be dealt with. Maybe sit quietly somewhere and just be for a few minutes. Something may bubble up to the surface that you can then consciously address.

We may feel upset sometimes even if nothing has happened. It usually is because there is a situation that we have not handled or the anger is masking other feelings, like sadness or anxiety. Taking a step back to reflect on our lives can help us identify the real cause behind our feelings, and addressing it can improve our lives very much.
