What makes it so hard to put into words what's going on in your own mind?

Your mind is a powerful, beautiful, wonderous tool, but it can play tricks on you. Many of us are plagued by thoughts, that seem to circle around and around in our heads, purporting to be louder and more important than they really are. It can be hard to find the words to articulate accurately the intricacies of our thoughts. Our thoughts occur on so many levels, from the full bold primary colours of the conscious to the subtle watercolours of our sub-conscious and instinct. No wonder it can be hard to find words when some of our thoughts haven't even formed fully in our own mind! If we are going through difficult times, or if our lives are busy and over-complicated, our thoughts can get jumbled up and our minds become uneasy. Words can can help structure and order messy thoughts. Talking it through, writing it down, drawing it out… these are all ways to concentrate our thoughts and allow our minds to shuffle and reorder the messiness. Taking some time to relax, to find some peace in a busy day or some solace away from a difficult situation, can also help bring calmness to a messy mind. A good listener can be like a mirror, helping you to see your own mind more clearly and truthfully. Hope this helps! :)

Because YOU know how you are feeling. It sometimes hard to describe the feeling to somebody who doesnt have the same feelings. Like saying why you love somebody to somebody who doesnt love you back. It can help to use metaphors and analogies.

Sometimes you can feel so confused that you might not know how to explain yourself into words. At times you can feel so many different mixed emotions, that you can't describe yourself.

Sometimes it is hard to pen down our thoughts, because words simply can't do justice. For instance sad is such a simple three letter word, it doesn't seem to do much justice. Sad because of the weather, certain events or just sad?
Secondly, sometimes we just haven't given much thought or time to how we should identify our feelings. It's like asking someone how are you, and them answering I don't know.

Sometimes the right words get lost in your thoughts and get all jumbled up. It doesn't mean they aren't there. Just take the time, perhaps writing down or journaling your thoughts could help to get them out better when it is time.

We struggle at times to put our feelings or challenges were facing is because it might be hard to share and we stumble at our words and decide not to disclose or at times we are afraid of being judged and left helpless in the end, so to prevent it, you keep it all in your mind without seeking proper support when you needed it.
