Exercise is a great way to get out of your head, and it has the added benefit of being healthy in many other ways, too. It creates momentum, makes you more productive when not exercising, helps the sleep cycle, and helps to manage emotions.

Sometimes getting out of your own head is a perfect way to relax and reflect. I do this by meditation. I find that focusing on my breathing and listening to calm music completely transcends me from reality!

Mindfulness techniques work well to take a step back from your own thoughts, you may try breathing exercises and self awareness techniques, a good technique to try is the 5 senses technique, just sit back and focus on all the 5 senses in your present moment, what can you smell, taste, see, touch and hear? everything that you have ever experienced in your life has been through one of these 5 senses and it is important for you to occasionally get back into touch with them.

I find exercise is such a benefit and release...It clears the head, amazing endorphins and healthy. I also enjoy throwing myself into a project/hobby I like. Anything to where I am not thinking or having to much quiet time...when my mind races the most.

do anything that makes you even the tiniest bit happy. then keep doing this lots of times and if there is a friend who you always enjoy being around, arrange a time to meet up. keep doing the things that you enjoy. if everything fails, here are some of my favourite things to do when i feel like this: go on a walk and listen to some music, bath with lush bath bomb and playing tennis. hope this is useful!

Getting out of your head can be tough! However, one thing you can do is do a physical activity, such as:
-gardening
-exercising (walking, running, biking, frisbee, kayaking, etc.)
-hiking
-playing video or board games
-working on arts and crafts
-playing a musical instrument
-household chores
-volunteering
-meeting a good friend for coffee or lunch
-playing with a pet or animal
Other things you can do are more mentally stimulating activities, such as:
-word puzzles
-computer programming
-reading a book
-meditating
-watching a new tv series or movie
-planning your next vacation or trip
-calling a family member or friend to catch up or see how they are doing
There are a variety of things you can do to get out of your head! All you have to do is start on something and the more you work on activity, generally, the more you will feel better.
