It is normal to think about suicide sometimes. But a daily occurrence probably indicates there is something that needs to be addressed. Underlying depression, anxiety, or something else. Thoughts of suicide are a symptom of a problem. Keeping that in mind may help guide you to the right resources to begin the process of healing.

In 2015 I thought about it everyday and eventually it landed my in a psych ward on a pink slip. I am thankful I no longer think of it as an option ever. I still struggle with depression and terrible feelings of loneliness but I try to remember that everything is temporary and somehow and sometime it will change. My dear Grandmother used to tell me “this too shall passâ€. She was an incredibly strong woman born in 1914 and she experienced much adversity in her life. If you think about “it†everyday by all means please seek professional help because you are not alone and there is help and hope. Never give up!

Suicide is the final step for many so it is worrying. Thinking about it though is an opportunity to realise that you need help and support and knowing you have to do everything to change what is happening in your life

I don't think its normal to think about suicide everyday since it does demotivate you. Suicide is a very sensitive topic and being in that state is something your should be very aware of. People who are suicidal had enough of everything and they think that death is the only way. Remember death is a permanent solution for a temporary problem. Things will get better, never lose hope. We are always here to listen.

Suicidal thoughts can be become addictive. If we consider suicide often then it becomes routine to think about it whenever we feel stressed or trapped in a situation. It's like an automatic reaction. Ideally, we should become more mindful of our own thoughts and try to break that cycle. Think of other things, such as: "yes, I feel very low right now, but it will pass eventually". Distraction is also a great technique, so try to do things that you enjoy or at least something that captures your focus for a little while. If these issues persist, then perhaps you should seek professional help from a doctor.

I think it is perfectly fine to ponder about the topic every now and then, as long as it does not affect your daily life.
When it starts to affect your daily life, it can start to snowball into a larger issue that gets out of hand very quickly. If you find yourself thinking about suicide every now and then, it is ok. If you are contemplating suicide everyday, please try to find a professional. We listeners are here to help with smaller handable issues, and suicide is definitely outside of our expertise. What we can do for you are limited and I hope you understand.

I don't think so. Even if it does not involve you being the victim, it is a negative thought nonetheless and no one is supposed to dwell on such things daily. You might like to dissect your thought process and try to get to the source of these thoughts. Where is it coming from? What triggered it? And most importantly, is it helping me in any possible way? As far as I know, having negative ideas recurrently can have a damaging effect in the long run, both emotionally and psychologically. So, it is better if you think about this a little more deeply and think for yourself. All the best :)
