The most important thing to do when you're depressed is to acknowledge the reasons a person is feeling this way. Its not an easy thing to go through, because of how a person is feeling and also because of the social stigma attached to it. Which is why i believe that the only person that can help you the best is yourself. Its very important to seek help in all these situations but before that you have to try and remember that you are not a quitter. Whatever the reason is thats making you depressed is a problem and you have to be willing to try and find a solution for it and to make yourself happy and whole again. That is possible too, even if you may not believe it. Everything can become better someday and you have to find a lot of strength inside of you to fight your way through until you get at that point. Keep reminding yourself that this feeling is temporary and you can't allow it to take you down with it. You are so strong and you are so loved. Always remember that.

Depression normally happens if you have suppressed emotions that's are not dealt with over time. Its good if you can go through the emotions with a therapist/counselor to deal with them so that they don't reoccur and cause you to be depressed.

To be honest, I can't answer this because I don't feel like you can just get rid of depression. It's always going to be there in some way or another. BUT you can help yourself to feel better and cope with it! There are many ways you can help yourself and others cope with depression and any kind of mental illness. Firstly, seek help! It's always okay to ask for help whether it be a doctor, friend or even a family member. I can promise you someone out there cares, a lot more people than you think! They can support you and insure that you're okay. Secondly, don't do anything that you know will trigger you. That one is quite self-explanatory. Finally, the most important reason I think, is believing you can get better deserve help. I think once you accept that you need help and know that you deserve it (everyone does) everything will just fall into place. Everyone deserves it. Remember that.
