I guess you can never fully get rid of depression, since there are often triggering things and it is always possible to fall back into old patterns but you can like lower depression so that it is like it is gone but it is like a file you deleted on the internet, it is out of your mind but somewhere it is still there.

I personally do not think you can get rid of depression. I think you can learn to handle it but I think at some point in everyone's life they face depression or depressing thoughts. I think when it comes to depression, there is always a possibility that it will get better with treatment or therapy

From my own personal experience? No. But I don't say that to diminish any of your feelings or to make you lose hope, no, not at all. You never get rid of depression but you learn to cope with it, and learn to make it become suited to you, not the other way around. It's like having a wild animal that you tame and then learn to live with, in a sense. It gets better.
