depression is different with each individual, the best way is to be yourself around them and keep a good sense of normality going on however let them know from time to time your there for them should they need someone to talk to.

Listen to them. Even if they want to be silent, let them know you're there. Maybe they don't want to address the depression directly, but not being alone can really help sometimes. It never hurts to ask what they want or need.

1.) Don't tell them they are being selfish or needy.
2.) Show them you are listening.
3.) Don't just give them advice and expect them to get better.
4.) Encourage them, and help them understand that life won't always be bad.

If you know someone suffers from depression try to talk to them. Be nice and try to understand what they're going through. It's maybe not easy for them to talk about it so don't be offened if they don't want to talk about it. Just let them know you are there for them.
Don't judge them! It is jot their fault. Depression is a mental disorder after all.
Remember that if you know aout any of this that you should talk to them about visiting a psychologist and/or professional help.

Well what I do to help people with depression is tell them my experiences with them. I tell them that depression is different for everyone and that people can have different solutions. I basically try to tell them that they're not alone and that there's always hope.

You can help people with depression by offering gifts, helping them do fun activities, and enjoying time with them, such as hanging out at the movie theaters or mall.

Refer them to counsellors or you can ask them to try and express how they feel, this will allow you to help them without them realising.
