There are lots of ways that you can help people in other countries. One is that you can donate to charities. In addition to this charities, schools and other organisations sometimes fund projects where you can go out to other countries and help people. You can also volunteer for places like holiday camps where you can help as well. The final way I can think of to help people in other countries is this website; here the listeners connect with people from lots of different countries.

I make things for my church and then give them to my pastor who gives them to our mission trip. The mission trip takes them over there and whatever I make helps them. Because not many people have everything they need. it cheers them up to recieve something made just for them.

Cross cultural knowledge is important to understanding and relating. Women's issues are one area where global location has a massive influence on personal stories. If you don't know much about the political and socio economic factors outside your own environment, then brush up on it through news and your own discovery. Keep in mind that cultural values play an influence on how someone perceives themselves and their options. Women in Muslim countries, parts of Africa, India and Asia may not have the same resources for protection and support - alienation from family support is therefore often a crucial factor in their sense of security. TedTalks on YouTube has fabulous videos on lots of subjects relevant to the support we give here. Addiction, relationships, domestic violence, etc... Check it out and always keep building bridges by expanding your own awareness.

You can always help people in different areas of the world. It might not be so effective since you can't really embrace the other person face-to-face.. but that doesn't mean you can't be there for somebody when they need to talk about something.
