If you're having issues of running out of things to talk about, I suggest you list out what you would like to know about him and share with him and actually follow through, it might seem artificial but it helps. You could also have a slotted time to discuss about the week/day and have new topics for each chat. You could play games like "would you rather" or anything else. Also, if you guys spend more time together doing things or taking activities together, it makes your bond stronger and you'll have more things to talk about.

You can talk about favorite music selections, favorite books/genre/writing prompts, favorite video games (and why), get personal with touching stories of the way books make you feel, talk about the universe and beliefs (if you're comfortable with that topic and each other), or even just look up some conversational prompts on Pinterest!
