What if I am not good at what I love to do?

I think everyone struggles at one time or another with thoughts that they are not good at what they love to do. Often, we can be our harshest critics and expect more than anyone else. Many times is not a matter of not being good, but rather the situation is not as bad as you think. It may help to take a step back and look at what you do from the outside in. Chances are, you are doing much better than you think.

If I wasn't good at what I love to do,I would try to find another way to enjoy it if possible. For example,If I love to play baseball, but wasn't good at it,I could look into coaching baseball or playing just for fun as a hobby or even playing a video game of baseball for fun.Sometimes with more training, practice or learning you can get better at whatever it is you love to do.Just because you don't succeed the first time at something, doesn't mean your a failure. If it was what I really love to do,I would get back up and try again. If there was a reason I just couldn't do it,like I wasn't physiically able, than I would try to find something else I love to do and was good at.

Never give up hope . If you love something then do it with all your heart and you will be successful. Roald Dhal loved to write but his grades in English were low. But he ended up being one of the greatest children story teller. So never lose hope

Well like you said, it's something you love to do. It doesn't matter what other people think of you. If you love to do it, then do it however you want. Also if you don't think you're good enough at it just practice till you succeed.

Does it really matter? You love what you do so you don't need in my opinion is be anywhere near good at it. It's for your own self's enjoyment. You shouldn't risk losing what you love to do just because you think you are no good at something. You'll definitely regret it if you do lose it, in the future.

I'll do my best to be good enough, I have enough years to live for so why keep on trying on something you love.

I know it sounds cliche, but practice makes perfect. If you love to do it, keep doing it. You can only get better!

Practice makes perfect. So we just have to keep trying or use our skills in different ways in order to achieve our goals and to do what we love. We must put value in ourselves.

It’s not always important to be amazing at what you love to do, what’s important is that you love to do it. If you do it enough, someday you can be great at it (practice makes perfect). It’s like playing an instrument. It’s such an incredible feeling to make music, but only crazy prodigies are good right off the bat. The rest of us have to work at it, but if you love it, then it’ll most definitely be worth it. So, don’t worry about not being good at what you love, the journey you take to becoming better at whatever you’re doing will make you love it even more.

Good question. I think you need to firstly consider what you mean by good. Would more studying, practice make you better? If so, try and do this. If you want to be more pragmatic maybe think if there is something that you might be better at and think about pursuing it. Although I would recommend doing something that you love because of the motivation and interest that comes with that love meaning that you will put in more effort and probably achieve great results. But of course there are other things to consider like making a living but I am not sure if this is what is being asked. Good luck!

It depends on how it makes you feel. Do you feel inferior? agitated? restless & stressed out with yourself for not being able to excel at what you love to do? Or do you have moments where you think to yourself, "you know what, i could do this forever. I could slowly build confidence and improve over time." How does being bad at your job, effect you as a person, essentially? and is it worth it?

Being good at something is a skill you need to obtain talent doesn’t just come you need to practice. I would suggest to do something you’re more passionate about.

I love karaoke but I am definitely no Beyoncé. Keep doing what you love! However, if this is something (e.g. you’re a doctor who has a fear of blood) that is having a significant impact on yours or someone else’s life then maybe it’s something that you have to love and let go and realise it’s for the greater benefit. But usually if you have a recognisable passion for what you’re doing, then the likelihood is that you are good at what’s you love - your anxiety is just holding you back from your full potential. If this is the case, start to believe in yourself!

This is a really common question that a lot of people ask themselves. Sometimes, a person can love doing something (I love dancing, doesn't mean I can though, lol!) - but there is a fire burning away inside, and passion is the fuel! Generally, so long as you have passion, you can be good at what you love. Being good at something doesn't mean that you *have* to like it - and being bad at something doesn't mean that you *can't* like it. Being good at something is only a small portion of a hobby - the real magic comes in with the passion!

This is one of the most rewarding positions. If you're not good at what you love to do, it means your vision is not spoiled and your love for the activity is pure and genuine. That means, there's no risk you'll mistake a passion for something else. What can you do to overcome your distress? Set a progress plan and care to include small, achievable goals along the way. Your mantra from now on should be "progress over perfection" — you will eventually excel at it even more than a "gifted genius": this happens because your dedication and your focus are higher. Just don't let mistakes bring you down!
