There are many things that can cause a heart to beat fast, excitement, anxiety, adrenaline. It doesn't have to be a good feeling or a bad one.

You start to feel anxious, so naturally, your heart starts to race than usual, I think what you need to do is to practice some breathing techniques or try going to the doctor about this. Hope this helps

For me, it's a symptom of anxiety. My heart beat increases, my breathing quickens and becomes shallow and my body temperature rises (I feel flush in my cheeks).
These are warning signs for me that anxiety is present. If I'm mindful, there are ways I can avert the anxiety before it becomes unmanageable. I'll find a spot in a room where I have some distance from others and focus on taking deep, slow breaths. This signals my body that I'm not in a crisis so that it can hopefully slow my heartbeat. If I notice my thoughts are racing, I'll picture a tranquil place in my mind and together with the breathing, I can usually get myself back to baseline.

If it mostly happens in social situations then it is most likely to be anxiety (however always see a doctor for a health checkup just in case). You would need to talk to someone about social anxiety. CBT or mindfulness have helped many people with social anxiety.

I think that means that you have an anxiety issue. Only a mental health professional could diagnose you, but it might help to look up anxiety disorders.

It most probably means you are socially anxious. Social anxiety can mean it makes you uncomfortable to be around several people at once regardless if they are friends or strangers and the feeling of being watched as you walk in only increases the feeling.

The Facebook "Seen" message gives me a lot of anxiety! When I see that the person has "seen" the message, but does not reply, I start thinking about all the possible reasons why they would 'ignore' me... Does anyone else feel this? If so, how do you cope?
