Of course, working out and keeping your mind busy and focused will help you to control your anxiety attacks and also you will see how good you can be doing something you love.

Sport anxiety is incredibly common! The thing that a lot of athletes tell themselves to calm down include telling themselves that they've practiced and done the said maneuver tons of times, that the muscle memory will kick in, and that if you fall, there's people waiting to help you within seconds. Most of all, remember why you do gymnastics and why you love it! Good luck!

I usually find that if you focus on what makes you anxious and find a way around that anxiety that will help you overcome a "fear" of whatever makes you anxious, in this case gymnastics. If it is a safety concern realize that there are safety mats and people around to help you if you get hurt. If performing is your anxiety an option is to think about how ofter you train or if it is really viable that you will embarrass yourself so much that something devastating will happen.

Exercising can really help a person's anxiety. Listening to your favorite music and breaking a sweat can help purge you of negative feelings/emotions.
Being around other people who share common goals can also help those who are socially anxious. You don't even have to talk with people, just being around others can help.

Focus on what scares you the most and work with someone one on one and they'll help make you feel safe, confident and make sure you feel like you can accomplish anything. Things will be okay, and you will get through this you just need to go and ask people.

Yes. You can talk to your coach about your anxiety. Possibly ask yourself what your biggest fear is and check out the 7 cups anxiety guide. And you can also stop doing the things that make you anxious. If competing makes you nervous maybe consider a recreational gymnastics team. If it’s really bad maybe consider a different sport. I understand what your going through. Sports and pressure can put a lot of stress and anxiety on us and it’s hard to cope sometimes. You can always talk to a 7 cups of tea listener or a trusted adult or friend.

Working on managing anxiety can be hard, but you are an expert on your own emotions. Recognize what the root of this anxiety is and work towards finding the solution to work through it! I played sports for years and I always found myself having anxiety about not doing well and letting my coaches and teammates down. I found when I didn't let myself get in my head so much and realize that the world doesn't end when you make a mistake, I improved and enjoyed what I was doing. I'm sure you are great at everything you do, you got this!

The Facebook "Seen" message gives me a lot of anxiety! When I see that the person has "seen" the message, but does not reply, I start thinking about all the possible reasons why they would 'ignore' me... Does anyone else feel this? If so, how do you cope?
