College is the upgrade from high school, everything is brand new. Expectations become higher as you grow older and you meet new people! You should feel excited there are many opportunities and new things to study. Don't let your fright get in the way of your studies, once you make some close friends and feel comfortable with a new routine and new environment you will eventually become more cosy in the new place.

Of course it is! College is a MUCH bigger High school, but with more mature people. Of course there's going to be immature ones too, but in college, people do more of their own thing. There may be cliques of course if you're staying on campus, but generally people just mind their own business and avoid drama.

Of course. It would be the same as if you were nervous about going to high school for the first time. Trying new things can indeed be nerve racking, but college is more free flow. So enjoy the new experience while you can.

Sometimes we can all feel nervous especially when we first start out at something, once we are in a regular routine things start to become easier. If you're still feeling socially anxious once you've been in college for awhile then it's good to asses why that might be.

The Facebook "Seen" message gives me a lot of anxiety! When I see that the person has "seen" the message, but does not reply, I start thinking about all the possible reasons why they would 'ignore' me... Does anyone else feel this? If so, how do you cope?
