Take a deep breath and think of the tasks ahead in smaller mini tasks that you can accomplish and tick off to reach the bigger overall task! Think of it as a progress check list which allows you to think of the bigger day out in smaller, bite sized chunks that are easier to manage, a success check list so to speak. When you look back at the day when you’re back home, you will see you have accomplished everything you set out to do, and to try not focus on everything all at once, that can be overwhelming.

I find grounding exercises can help if its from anxiety, such as thinking of three things you can see, two things you can touch and one thing you can smell. I also find listening to music or going out with a friend or family member can help with overcoming that. Be patient with yourself and take time with it. Perhaps tru working up to being out the house for long periods, start by doing more short trips first and see if you can practise different methods such as breathing or grounding or taking someone with you to see which ways work best at helping you :)

The Facebook "Seen" message gives me a lot of anxiety! When I see that the person has "seen" the message, but does not reply, I start thinking about all the possible reasons why they would 'ignore' me... Does anyone else feel this? If so, how do you cope?
