It's a process for sure. It takes a lot of work. You have to learn that perfection really doesn't exist. You have to learn to love yourself with all your imperfections. Whenever you have a negative thought about yourself stop it and come up with 3 positive thoughts. Work on challenging these negative thoughts whenever they arise. And don't try to do this on your own. It's okay to lean on someone for support. They can really support and help you through this journey.
The best of luck to you. And just know that I think you're perfect just the way you are.
*Hugs* and lots of love

Stop comparing yourself to others ! You are wonderful just the way you are ! There is no definition in perfect only peoples perceptions of other people. Surround yourself with positive people, good friends and do something you love everyday :)

It is honorable that you realize perfection and the constant striving for it can be unhealthy. A tricky situation to navigate. Do you make an inventory daily of your accomplishments? Do you express gratitude toward yourself for what you do well? Are you able to appreciate how being imperfect can also be perfect? By expressing appreciation, and being in a state of realization, there is often a better balance found in life between perfect, wanting to be perfect and dealing with the imperfections. It takes some work and self awareness though it is worth it to live a happier and more satisfying life.

To really observe your thoughts and gain an understanding of why this may be constantly on your mind.

A very important step towards achieving this would be, first of all, to stop comparing yourself to others. Every individual is different from the other ones, and we certainly do not know what privileges or opportunities someone has, which means that making comparisons is not helpful for us. In addition, try to ensure yourself every day that you are doing the best you can, and even if you make mistakes, that is normal, because none can avoid them and because they help us understand ourselves better. Finally, you can try to use less the term "perfect", as it usually causes stress, and try to replace it with other words, such as "effective", "helpful", etc. You choose!
