It isn't that easy to just make the voices stop. I would suggest going to the doctors and trying to get some medication that could help stop the voices. If they persist get in touch with your doctor and discuss alternative treatment.

I put in headphones and listen to my favorite artists while remaining silent. The music helps calm me and helps me focus on just the songs. It quiets my mind and helps me think more clearly.

Seek the advice of a psychiatrist. They can identify the cause of the voices and provide therapy and prescriptions to help you. Just having someone to talk to is really helpful, but it's not always enough.

I would strongly suggest you ask a professional for help. If you don't want to take medication, there are therapies that can help with voices. You may also want to look into a Hearing Voices group.

It’s common for patients with schizophrenia to hear voices in their own mind that can affect what words they believe is fact and truth. Schizophrenia is as a result of an overactive cerebral cortex and the triggers behind it could be deafness or traumatic experiences such as abuse. Patients can experience delusions which could be for example failure in trusting others as they feel others are plotting against them and do not wish them well hence there is great failure in trusting others. The voices in the brain encourage them to think this way in their own mind, direct violence onto themselves or and onto people they love acting like the commentator which is why they think about taking certain steps. This could impact the character of an individual, to the point that the person can behave differently within a few minutes. This condition can go undiagnosed for years and the individual tends to be unable to distinguish between reality and falsehood. The good news is that family therapy and family therapy have been successfully used in the UK to reduce the stress the voices cause.

The Facebook "Seen" message gives me a lot of anxiety! When I see that the person has "seen" the message, but does not reply, I start thinking about all the possible reasons why they would 'ignore' me... Does anyone else feel this? If so, how do you cope?
