Yes this is actually more common then you think, I know because this happened to me. Anxiety saps the joy out of everything, making you worried about every move you make and leaving you full of stress and more negative emotions. Yes. Anxiety makes you feel less secure and therefore less confident. Confidence is important for social standing. Low social standing makes you feel more anxious. This is a feedback loop that can lead to depression. But don't be afraid. It is important to know this, because then you can somehow counteract this process. Know, that a lot of anxious feelings aren't worth it and can only lead to further pain. Surprisingly, this thought has calmed me down a lot of times....

Anxiety and depression go hand in hand usually. The difficulties of depression can cause feeling of anxiousness and anxiety can cause feelings of depression. Most of the time, the two conditions are treated together.

Yes, it can. You may feel sad and blue after worrying about what you're worried about. Anxiety is basically feeling worried (not really, but...) and worry is an emotion that may cause you to feel depressed.

The two can come hand in hand, but anxiety can cause excessive frustration leading to depression. They are usually diagnosed separately. Although there are many different types of depression, effective different lengths of time.

Yes and no. Not all depression can be from anxiety, but having G.A.D (generalized anxiety disorder) like myself it tends to bring down your self esteem in ever having friends.

Oh yes, yes it can. The two love to go hand in hand. When you are depressed one tends to shy away from social interaction and people and in turn develop anxiety around such areas (a social phobia). Likewise someone with an anxiety disorder is almost always depressed as anxiety is caused by negative thought processes and jumping to the worst conclusions. Pessimism really and depression is the definition of pessimism and despair, so certainly yes.

Anxiety can cause a whole array of different feelings and emotions. So yes anxiety can defiantly cause depression just as much as depression can cause anxiety. But what you have to understand is depression and anxiety are in the same family metaphorically speaking, they share a lot of the same traits and are both generally caused by the same feelings such as self doubt, and feelings of worry.
