For many people, co-workers and friends are rarely the same person. If a co-worker doesn't act like your best friend, that doesn't mean that they don't like you-- it simply means that they're not making friends at work. That can be uncomfortable and awkward, but as long as they're being respectful and allowing you to work, there's nothing wrong with that. If they're being disrespectful or making the workplace hostile, it might be time to talk to them and make sure there hasn't been anything that might have caused bad feelings.

It doesn't matter if your co-worker dislikes you. Everyone is expected to behave professionally in a professional environment, not play into petty personal drama. If you feel disrespected or put down, confront them directly but civil-ly and remind them that they don't have to like you, but they should focus on their work rather than antagonizing you and be mature enough to solve their issues through talking.

There is no way to "tell" what someone truly feels for you unless you talk with them and ask them for an honest answer. Good Luck.

I think the better question is, do you care or does it matter? It may be awkward working with someone who dislikes you, but at the end of the day, as long as you are doing the right thing, it's the other person's problem and not yours. But, if you'd really like to know, I suggest asking them directly.

There are always a little competition when it comes to work and co-workers, especially if you guys are aiming for the same things.
