1. Well do you have like Intense Sadness that just wont like fade away? Like the difference between sadness and depression is that one is temporary while the other lingers. While people can typically get over whatever has caused them to feel sad, depression clamps down and does not let go that easily. 2. Do you have a lost intrest in life or activities that you once enjoyed? also like even if you're not feeling sad, you could still be depressed. Feeling apathetic, numb or empty are also symptoms. They lead to no longer having any interest in doing things you once enjoyed. 3. Do you get angry really fast and really wanna fight a person that annoys you completely? If you find yourself involved in more arguments, especially ones that tend to escalate quickly, chances are you're struggling with unresolved anger, which has led to depression. 4. (last one) Would you like rather be alone and not be with friends or with anyone?? some people with this mental condition have no desire to be around others. They shut down and shut others out, which in fact only makes it worse.
suggestions that may help pull you out of depression if you are experiencing it:
--Seek a professional or someone close you can confide in
--Stay connected to the outside world, especially your family and friends
--Avoid alcohol or any other drug substance not prescribed to you
--Socialize with people who provide a positive influence in your life
--Help out others or volunteer somewhere to get the focus off of you
--Join a support group
Very possible, especially in lesser cases of it, but it would also confirm the diagnosis, considering how "hidden" it is, that it is not severe, if you refer to a general collection of cases as evidence.
Yes! Often times depression hides itself in various other manifestations, such as inability to focus, messiness, overeating, hyperactivity, etc.
Yes it is possible to be depressed and not realize or mistake the symptoms for something else. For instance a person may feel worthless or have symptoms of low self esteem and not relate it to depression, or feel tired and/or despondant and think they have a physical condition other than being depressed.
I knew I had depression straight away. My pet died when I was in 8th grade, and after a week I knew something was wrong with me. I told my friends what happened and they didn't seem to care about how I was feeling, so I pushed it aside. My grades began to drop dramatically, but I felt like... I didn't care about anything anymore. When I'm at school, I had this mask on in front of my friends showing that was a really happy, go lucky person... but when I got home, I was like an emotionless robot. Nothing seemed to faze me and I didn't care what my parents say to me. My mom started crying at one point and I just watched her cry, nothing in me reacted and I just had no feelings left.
So, some people can be depressed and not know about it, or some just get it instantly. We're all human beings, but we're not all the same. Sometimes things click and sometimes they don't. Everyone has a different reaction to things, like an example of me, some guy comments on my looks and I tend to be slow and quickly get confused. Only after some friends explain to me what happened, I realized why the guy liked my clothes.
But some people just don't know they have it. I think it can be invisible, but I personally think that most people may notice it and just can't accept the fact that they could be depressed and forget about it. So it can be invisible or it can't be if you know it's there or not.

Yes, you may have symptoms of depression and not realise that this is what you're experiencing, such as tiredness, lack of appetite, low moods. It's recommended to talk to someone and visit a doctor if there are unexplained changes in character like these.
Yes! Its hard diagnosing yourself. I went on for months and months wondering what was wrong with me. I was never excited about anything. I would just stay in my room or stay in the house. I was literally in the dark all the time. My only form of human contact was over the internet. It sucks when your mind starts playing tricks on you. My family never said anything either. It felt like no one cared what I was going through. Then my mind started playing tricks on me and I started doubting god, and making myself believe bad spirits were after me. Then the cutting started. Then the suicide attempt. Then the counseling. It wasn't until all of that, that I realized I was severely depressed. I didn't have anyone. I didn't know about these kinds of websites. You're taking the first step now. You're getting more help before hand than I ever did. I'm happy for you. And if you don't know if your depressed or not, just get online and there is plenty of us here to help you.

Depression is more than what people think it is. Depression isn't just being sad or hopeless. There are a multitude of symptoms, like restlessness, increased or decreased appetite, and many others. All these symptoms are valid you can ask for help with all of them.

Yes! A person may be hiding depression and not know it..............
Sure , If everyone makes you mad you are depressed. That is easy anwer. Please don't worry about that ıt can be past.
Yeah, since it's a mental illness each person feels it differently so it may have come on so gradually you didn't notice it
Usually you can feel it. However, you might feel sad and have no motivation for anything, but that does not necessarily mean you are depressed. Depression is a really strong feeling, sometimes you are just a bit emotionally-weakened.

It is, like most things possible. Depression and its symptoms aren't necessarily sudden and spontaneous. Stress and sadness could just gradually build up into something more severe without your knowing.
Yes, I suffered from depression for years before I was diagnosed with it. Its best to find out soner than later.
Yes definitely. Depression does not show itself the same way in everyone. Every person is different so you may not have the "tell signs" of someone having depression but it may be there
Yes you can i t happens to me but I have worked out when I am depressed. And know how to change my mood

Of course you can. Depression is pretty good at hiding itself, and may feel like other symptoms. Not feeling well for elongated periods of time, may be a true sign of depression. If you ever asked yourself, "Am I depressed?" Chances are that you are.

yes, many people are depressed without knowing it. depression is different for everyone, and when some people are constantly told that self-diagnosis isn't diagnosis at all, we give up on the thought and allow out depression to deepen. not only that, but sometimes you can be practically clueless to symptoms and signs, and that's sometimes even worse.
Yes, sometimes you don't realize you're depressed because you feel more bored than sad and don't feel like doing anything. Sometimes it feels like a fact that it's hopeless or pointless rather than the feeling it really is.
You can surely be depressed and not know it. Depression can come over you like a tidal wave but it can also come in hardly noticeable.

Yes, it's common. It can be mistaken for feeling down, or "blue" when, in fact, it can be so much more. Learning about depression, and the symptoms can back it easier to understand your feelings

You might feel like it is just a normal feeling and you aren't used to the fact others don't feel the same.

Yes you can be depressed and not fully know that you are facing depression. Although what you may feel is that you are not your 'normal' self.

Being depressed exists in your knowledge of it. Your emotions are defined by YOU. If you think you're depressed, you are!
Yes the situation can happen. You can be sad from time to time or not feel like doing anything at all and just confuse the feeling with something else, like procrastination, having a bad day.
Can i be depressed and not know it? Ofcourse - becouse the sadness is something really normal and ussual, thats we can`t recognize her. How you will know something is not a normal, when that thing was with you your whole life.
Actually, yes. Many people feel depressed and don't realize it. It is usually the family member or friend that brings it to their attention.
