Something that has helped me personally to cope with anxiety are breathing exercises. One can start by simply taking deep breaths, and fully focusing on the breathing. It has helped me to be calmer and more collected when dealing with anxiety.

You can try relaxation exercises e.g. Progressive Muscle Relaxation,walk and deep breathing etc. Visual imagery can also help in this regard.

As being someone who has suffered from severe anxiety myself, I found that trying to distract yourself from the panic/anxiety attacks while it's happening really does help. One technique I used to use to distract myself from an anxiety attack was to say the alphabet from A to Z and think of a word for every letter of the alphabet, for example: A- Apple, B - Bird. ect. until i felt the anxiety symptoms subside. I also found that when I was on the go, carrying mints or gum also helped manage physical anxiety symptoms, since your body is tricked into thinking that you're eating and if you're eating you're safe. Since anxiety is usually triggered by the flight or fight response. You wouldn't be eating if you were in any 'danger'

In my own personal experience, mindfulness can be a great way to deal woth the physical symptoms of anxiety. It's not for everyone, but you could give it a try if you'd like. Headspace is a really good app that has guided exercises. I hope this helps!

other than medication, many people use art form such as painting or physical activities such as boxing or running to curve their physical symptoms of anxiety.

Hi my name is Gentlerabbit7539, and I have some great tips I think will help. One main thing to do is breathing exercises. As an example, you can breathe in for four counts, hold for seven, and then breathe out for eight. This helps people calm down and control their breath. Often times, people feel like they can not breathe correctly or deeply, so this should help. Focus on one point on a wall, ceiling, or in front of you, and sit down. Play some calming music, draw and doodle, read, and even humming to yourself can improve your symptoms and make them slow or stop. (: Hope this helps!

There are many different ways to deal with anxiety other than using medications. For instance, there are a lot of breathing techniques that you can use as well as meditation and mindfulness techniques. Also, talking to someone about how you are feeling can help you to better understand how you are feeling and the steps that you can take to help yourself- this could be from a counsellor, a 7Cups listener, friend, family member, anyone who you trust. Strengthening the solar plexus - It is located in our abdomen. It is the part of our body which has radiating nerves and hence radiates energy constantly. The quality or form of this energy is the result of our physical strength as well as mental well-being. Hence, having a strong solar plexus can not only help in reduced anxiety but it can also help in making one feel calm, strong , confident and full of life. There are many alternative ways besides medication to deal with anxiety. I understand how challenging it can be to have anxiety and I want you to know you are not alone in this situation. There are ways to get help without having medication. Such as talking out what has been occurring with someone else, breathing exercises, music, doing something that makes you happy, and many other things. Trying to combat anxiety is a process and it is different for every individual. Everyone and every situation is different and you are the best judge on your own life, some techniques may not work and some may work really well but do not get discouraged through the process because it is okay! There are many methods that they offer on this website and many opportunities to explore for help even outside of this website. You are doing amazing and you are cared about greatly, you are not alone in this process.

I think positivism and meditation and adventuring are a good way to deal with the physical symptoms of anxiety , and anything the person likes to do can avoid that symptoms, listening to music , reading books , practicing sport , playing chess , playing with guitar , piano . . . , talking to people you like , studying or resolving maths problems , reading about history, astronomy, anything of this can manage you from the anxiety , the only thing you must do is to enjoy what you are doing and do it from the bottom of your heart .

Mindfulness exercises are a great way to manage anxiety by increasing your own awareness of your body/brain! Meditation is the classic one, but there are a whole bunch of techniques to try! My favorite technique is listening to music and focusing on nothing but the song. As your mind wanders, bring it back to the song. Aside from mindfulness, another way to manage the physical symptoms of anxiety is to stay on top of your overall physical health. You have to make sure that you're taking care of you body to help you care for your mind. Hope this helps a bit!

Meditation is great, observing your fears, breathing techniques are great too especially the 7-3-8 technique I find it to be most effective but what I find most helpful is writing in a journal that way you can keep track of what spikes up your anxieties and how you could manage it better. I have also tried to focus on my senses when I feel panicked or anxious, what is it that I can see, touch, smell, what I'm feeling internally and externally. When anxious we are quick to forget how our bodies react in those situations and I find it helpful to look at them to better manage it in the future.

This is a simple one, my lodger is currently off work with anxiety and I gave her the perfect cure, she comes out with me walking the dog, we walk miles, fortunately I am retired and have a whole day to do stuff with her, already she has seen and felt the benefits of just being outside. She now actually comes downstairs for breakfast rather than an energy bar in her room, she is slowly building up the confidence to restart her job next week and is looking at driving to the coast to stay in our static in the next few weeks :)

Oh there are so many! For one thing, you can try going through a CBT workbook kind of thing. Basically you identify what thoughts/ feelings go through your head when you experience depression and you dissect them so to speak and challenge them. You do different exercises and reflect on them to convince yourself that your thoughts are not justified. The more you do it, the more you would develop habits to be more rational and don't give in to negative, destructive thoughts. Also there is mindfulness practice. There is a lot of groups/websites/books now to help you learn it. The point of mindfulness is to get out of your head and to focus on how, which relives anxiety as a side-effect.

a thing called grounding witch makes you realize your surroundings and realize you are not in that place anymore and you are safe. So name 5 things you see, 4 things you can touch, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell and 1 thing you can taste. and look, touch, listen, smell, or taste the following things. Also look up square breathing. As well as Inhale for 7 sec hod for 4 exhale for 5. Doing things like walking, having cold water on the wrists and doing this breathing helps as well as being in a cold?hot (depending on if the attacks make you feel hot or cold pick the opposite temp ex if you feel hot go to a cold place ect) and quite place can help, Also running cold water on your wrists.

Anxiety can eat the living hell out you and can make you feel like your world is falling apart, though there are ways to deal with anxiety if you don't or can't use medication. Taking deep breathes can help you calm yourself down is you feel very anxious or are in the middle of an anxiety attack. Try thinking positive and don't overstress. As hard as this is there are small steps that you can take to overcome these things. With stress, try doing things that you enjoy when you have free time, may it be reading, singing, or even drawing. By doing these things it can help yourself with self-care and by doing things that you love it can help you keep at peace. Another thing I would suggest is writing about how you feel when anxious or have been through an anxiety attack. Reflecting back on how you feel can be a great way of acknowledging what you are facing instead of ignoring. If you are comfortable, telling someone your comfortable with can help you know that there is someone in your life that cares and will help you. If you don't think that you have a person in your life then 7Cups is great and the listeners care about everyone. Remember as hard as it is to deal with anxiety there are many ways to deal with the situation.

There are many alternative ways to reduce anxiety to medication. Most people do breathing exercises to lower anxiety. Practicing mindfulness is a very helpful way to decrease anxiety - for most people using an app to guide you through the practice extremely helpful. Visualizing a happy and calming place is also very helpful as one does not focus on the anxiety and the cause of it. Listening to music is also very good. Depending on your personality, you may want to either listen to calming and relaxing music or listen to upbeat music that you can dance or sing to. Socializing with a friend is also a great way to reduce anxiety.

Taking a step back, go to a space where it's more quiet and where you can focus on your breathing. Breathe in slowly, while you count to three and then slowly release the air through your nose. Count to six when you do that. Also take a short pause, about a second, before you breath in again. It's something my therapist taught me. Also put your hand on your stomach to help regulate your breathing. Also try to think positive thoughts, although this is not easy in some situations.

Meditation is a great way to deal with the physical symptoms anxiety can produce. One can even follow up with a physical activity like a casual stroll. Or if you're too symptomatic take a warm bath, listen to a reading, or relaxing mood music. At times even a massage can be helpful. The important thing is to find out what your body best responds to. Some people alleviate their symptoms by distraction and others need direct stimulation. And at times you may need to do both or switch one thing out for another. It's ok whatever you choose. And don't get discouraged if the thing that use to work doesn't, discover something new.

Understanding the physical symptoms of your anxiety can sometimes very helpful. Anxiety, for many people, comes from the unknown and can make us worry about the worst case scenario. Understanding that your chest pain is from hyperventilation, not a heart issue, or that you feel sick because you’re anxious and not because you’re actually ill can make you feel calmer. Aside from this, finding ways to actually tackle the physical symptoms can be useful. Breathing exercises can be very useful. In a panic attack, breathing in for 7 and out for 7 can sometimes be difficult. I recommend breathing in for one and out for one, then in for two and out for two, increasing this number until you’re taking deep, calming breaths. Things like chewing gum, blowing lightly on the pad of your thumb, and other tricks can also “trick” your body into calming down. And sometimes, though it’s hard, accepting and riding out the physical symptoms can be the quickest way to relieve them.

Breathing exercises help to trick your body into going into a calmer state. Try slowly counting your breaths. You could even use an online breathing meditation exercise to guide you through this. You can also get rid of your body's anxious energy by getting some light exercise - it doesn't have to be anything extreme, just a walk around the house is helpful. Distraction is also good, as it helps to banish the feelings of anxiety as well as taking your mind off the physical symptoms. Try to put the radio on, call a friend, or pick up a book.

To take nice deep breaths and make sure your breathing is always steady. get plenty of sleep and always try your best. It is important to take time out and have a break otherwise your anxiety could build up. Also accept that anxiety is a part of life, you should embrace it by accepting the fact you have anxiety and that way you will feel more in control with yourself. Always remember the anxiety does not control you and you have the power. before accepting the thoughts that give you the most anxiety, question your thoughts. You could be wrong.

Medication can be a useful way to treat the physical symptoms of anxiety and particularly when used as an aid to therapy. Although many people don't want to go this route which is perfectly ok. There are many alternative ways to manage anxiety such as mindfulness which can produce some really good results I like an app called headspace and calm which I find really helpful also meditation and yoga also can really help. Also breathing exercises and I think some times a lifestyle change can help so eating more healthy and exercise ( as it releases Endorphins) which act as happy hormones also sleep can help massively to reduce anxiety. I really hope you find something that works and we are always here if you need us.

Sometimes what works for me is having pressure. Like for example, if I'm shaking and I can't stop shaking, if I'm with someone, I can ask them to give me really tight hug. Somehow getting hugged like that gives your mind a signal saying that you're safe and that you don't need to panic. Another thing that helps me is instead of breathing deeply, sometimes holding me breath for a little bit can really help me to start breathing normally again... Well another thing that can help is talk to people, go for a walk, do meditation and stuff like that

Oh goodness, there's a lot. Sounds cliché, but physical exercise can be a HUGE way to get some of that anxiety out of your body. I know that it's very oversaid and stressful seeming, but not only does it get that extra energy out of your body, but you sleep better and you have less stress. Having a physical outlet can make a WORLD of difference. (I bought a punching bag, personally.) - you can also use other forms of physical movement like Yoga, Martial Arts, focus, hiking, ect. Getting moving and keeping busy is one of the best ways to cut an anxiety spike off at the head. I'm not saying it works every day, but most days.. it does.

Each person has their own way of dealing with anxiety. Personally I find the following helpful: Exercising, therapy, finding ways to distract myself (be through reading, tv shows, movies, going out etc), relying on family and friends, talking about what bothers me, writing or any way I can find of releasing and expressing oneself, taking apart problems that might be causing me anxiety and dealing with small parts of it slowly, respecting my own time and my limitations, and mostly being there for others as a way of getting out of my own mind and earning new perspective on things.

You can take a walk,or clean up your room. Also doing things for yourself like taking a hot bath or listening to some music helps a lot💕 Also, talking to people you love,reading a book, or dancing helps reduce a lot of stress. Personally, i like walking in nature because looking at the trees or at the ocean helps me very much. There are so many ways to help reduce stress and they are everyday activities like cooking a quick meal, organizing your stuff or cleaning up your closet. Going to the gym or simply exercising at home helps a lot.

There are many different options, if you Google ideas you'll find a lot on there and even on YouTube. Try out different techniques and see what works best for you. What you want to do is slow yourself down and check out how you are in the sitiation you are in. Breathing exercises can be good for this. So can mediation and/ or mindfulness. Grounding techniques can be very helpful - you'll find more online. ASMR can offer a lot of relief from anxiety. Perhaps mantras or positive affirmations. Try different things and see what works for you. It is something you can get control over and although you may still feel anxious it will be more manageable. Good luck!

Talk about your feelings with someone you trust, sleep well, eat healthily and exercise daily. Balance this well and it should combat anxiety better than most modern medicines. Eating healthy is self-explanatory. Have good amounts of vegetables, grains, pasta, rice, fish and meat in your diet. Eating healthily gives you more energy to go through the day happily! Exercise is also important. Exercising releases endorphins in your brain which make for an overall happier mood. One should exercise for an hour extensively every second day or 30 minutes extensively every single day. Sleep is also very important. It allows your brain to get the necessary rest it needs to work well throughout the day. A lack of sleep can result in dizziness, nausea and anxious thoughts. And lastly, talking to someone. Keeping feelings pent up inside is bad for you. Discuss how you feel with those you trust. Make sure to care for yourself all the time! All the best, Cordelia x

There number of ways, scientific and not scientific. The scientific ways such as CBT, Hypothesis, Mindfulness and so on. The none scientific ways such as NLP, Rieki, religious spiritual treatments etc. As psychology is a new field of science it still immature if it is right to say. That keeps the question about the unscientific ways of treating psychological illnesses without a real answer as it has been seen that many people get psychologically and physically better after being exposed to unscientific ways of treatments. Massaging could help people with some physical issues. Also, a special diet could help a lot.
