no your friends should be the ones you drink it with and have a good time, if your hiding it from them, theres most likely to be a problem somewhere along the line
I think that for anyone to hide anything is not normal, and could definitely have a problem. Maybe think about going to therapy or group support?
Hiding alcohol from friends can indicate that you have an issue with it. If you are worried that they know you drink, then it indicates something you need to work on. Secrets make you sick.
Yes like all self destructive coping mechanisms using alchol in anything other than a social setting is often a great source of shame. Many people do this and I could give plenty of examples.

No. This is not normal. Please try to understand why you feel the need to hide your drinking. This is often a sign of guilt, and can be a sign of alcoholism. Take care of yourself, and seek help if you need it.
I'm not sure. How do you feel about what you are doing? Do you have any specific reason that you are hiding the alcohol from your friends?
It might seem normal to you, but think about why you are hiding it. No one can label you an alcoholic, no one can decide what is your norm, but why do you do it? If the answer is, because you are ashamed, you feel they will judge you, or there is reason you don't understand, it may be time to explore that, be open to those you are hiding from, seek help in your community or from a counselor. Safe journeys friend. I am here if you need a chat.
I understand your feelings and if you fear judgement about drinking in front of them I could certainly understand why you would want to hide it.
I'm not sure if normal is the proper term. You maybe dealing with a few feelings of judgment and trying to avoid them. If your drinking is becoming something you feel the need to hide then you might want to find someone to help you.
However,
If you are hiding alcohol because your friend may have an alcohol abuse problem then it is justified.

It isn't exactly normal to do that. I myself have a similar problem - I hide my drinking from my husband, and drink only when he's asleep or away. Hiding your drinking could mean you have a serious problem, and should most likely seek out help.
What is important about drinking? Does it provide relief? Do you drink to feel a certain way? Alcohol is a depressant, and drinking in isolation is considered a risky behavior, in that it can lead to uncontrolled drinking more easily. Do you know what is considered controlled drinking? The amounts are different for men and women.
