COVID-19 is something may be something some of us have never experienced before. It has touched each one of us globally in different and similar ways. Depending on where you are, you might be experiencing work or school closure, new public health laws, the loss and worry of loved ones, and restrictions to places, people, and things. All of these events and more can cause us anxiety, depression, stress, sadness, grief, and other various thoughts and feelings that are hard to cope with. Know that this is normal. These kinds of thoughts and feelings are felt universally by all those affected during this unprecidented time. The COVID-19 pandemic and all the consequences associated with it can feel threatening to us. Sometimes, anxiety and stress can be important and good for us to protect ourselves and to survive. When we perceive a threat, stress and anxiety can become an indicator to us to make a change, motivate us to strive toward a better well-being for ourselves, and lead us toward solutions to keep away from danger (such as social distancing and protecting our bodies) to maintain our health. Though during these times, our natural response of stress and anxiety can be surprisingly helpful, we also know how too much stress and anxiety can affect us negatively.

Before we start this path, expect to learn terms and pratice exercises. Even if you don't feel something applies to you, or that a particular strategy might not be helpful, I encourage you to at least give it a chance and try! You never know if something could be effective without actually practicing it. 😃 Let's begin!
