Simple steps to participate in the group chat rooms and socialize easily

Rewire the thoughts

Mindest is critical for actions. Challenging your negative thoughts can help to overcome the anxiety of participating in the chat rooms. Start by identifying the anxious thoughts that automatically pop into your head when you think of group chat rooms. Once, you figured it out, you are halfway through your battle.

Next, all you need to do is take small and simple steps. Analyze and rewire those thoughts. If you are thinking like, "What if they will judge you?" Think it, "They are curious to meet and know you."

It is a process and takes one step at a time. Start with visiting and observing the chatrooms. Observing is a good start before you socialize.

Start Now and Start Where You Are

You can think of building self-confidence like playing a video game. You start on an easier level. Then, as you master skills, you go up to the next level. And this process continues.

You don't go from Level I to Level 8, because that is too much of a jump and will be too hard. Instead, you go from Level I to II and then to III. Along the way you learn key skills that you need to move to the next level.

Say it to yourself-

I am learning new skills. I am leveling up. It may not always feel like it, but my feelings do not dictate how I play this game. I do and I am leveling up!

Face your fears

One of the key steps is to face your fears. It’s impossible to overcome a challenge if you don’t expose yourself to situations that make you anxious. Avoidance as a tool to cope can be a short-term help, but it is not helping you to continue personal growth.

Gently exposing yourself could prove to be really useful to overcome the challenge to participate and interact. Therefore take part in a group activity in the chat rooms and any time during the period you feel anxious or stressed, you can leave the spot and take self-care.

Every step you taking will count on your personal growth!!

Focus on Others

When you are in the group chatrooms, it’s hard to stop the endless thoughts that make you feel anxious easily.

We usually turn inward and focus on our thoughts and ourselves. We dwell into a spiral of thoughts like how others will think, what if I will talk too much and no one listens, what if I mess up, what if others judge me how I am, etc. Assuming everything in advance could lead to worry and make you feel negative about even giving it a try.

But, the secret to starting a good chat is knowing everyone's feeling the same way and they don't know others' feelings also the same.

Start with stop putting the spotlight on yourself and put it on others. Focus on other people and try to be present and listen them. Listening them first will allow you to naturally open up about yourself too and lead to a good chat.

Break the ice!!

After you introduce yourself in the chatroom, make a conscious effort to break the ice. Actively recognize who all are listening to you and responding. It will allow you to feel comfortable and share more.
