Should name, age, gender be shared with the member?

It is observed that a lot of people use that information as an outlet to be inappropriate. So, it makes sense to refrain from revealing those details at the start of the chat - since it takes time to develop connection and trust with a member. Thereafter, it totally depends upon your connection and trust level with the member. At any point, you need not share anything that puts you in an uncomfortable place.

Secondly, note that neither member nor listener should be sharing full name. Remember the thumb rule, as long as the information doesn't let the other person trace them off site, it's fine.
