Service

Only by upasana (service/worship) you get something.

You need to invoke the grace of some or the other power (to get something).

You invoke the people of power (like your teacher, employer, customer etc), you court (engage with) them, you serve them, so that they give you desired fruits.

Similarly, if you invoke and serve a higher power (like serving a cause greater than yourself, or seeking ways to give), the fruits are also higher.
