Self-Reflection

A boundary is a rule or guideline that you set for yourself, or you set for others, which helps you feel safe and comfortable. There are many things we cannot control, but strong boundaries can help us stay out of bad situations.

Exploring Boundaries:

Reflect on your personal boundaries. 

* What boundaries or personal rules do you have for others? For example, expecting respect from others, not discussing certain topics, not encroaching in physical space, etc, these are just ideas.

* What boundaries or personal rules do you have for yourself? For example, avoiding certain substances, only spending a certain amount of time in a situation, only giving others two chances, etc., these are just ideas.

* Why are these boundaries important to you? 

* How have you tried to hold up your boundaries in the past?

* What are some ways you can better communicate your boundaries? 

* What are some new boundaries or personal rules you would like to have? 

This exercise is intended to be for reflection, self care, or short-term distraction.
