Scheming the advantages

Often times when we're in a state for a long enough, it becomes our comfort zone, even if it's not comfortable at all. Similarly when you have social anxiety, at some point it might start feeling like a comfort zone that you might not be willing to come out of because it feels so familiar. And that's okay. :)

That's why, in this exercise, we will note down the advantages you can gain by overcoming your anxiety to foster motivation; as well as note the temporary disadvantages (i.e. momentary discomfort) that you'll have to face.

  1. What are the advantages that overcoming your social anxiety can get you? Will you be more confident? Have more friends? Have a different job or hobby? Etc.
  2. What temporary disadvantages could you face in this process?
