Reflecting on a social situation
As a socially anxious person, you might experience events time to time that tick up your anxiety or fear. In this exercise, we will reflect upon one (or more!) of the recent social situations that might have cause you to feel nervous or anxious.
You may use the following questions to reflect on the situation.
• What situation triggered your anxiety? Try to be as specific about the happenings as possible.
• What physical sensations/symptoms did you experience?
• What were your anxious thoughts/beliefs/predictions?
• What your your anxious behaviors i.e what did you do to protect yourself from the situation?
