Rationalization for Stressful Thoughts
Next, identify the evidence that does not support your thoughts and feelings. While your thoughts and feelings are valid, there must be some evidence that contradicts it.
For example, if your loved one's new MDS diagnosis has left you feeling like you cannot do much to support them, with the positive evaluation supporting the fact that this is a rare condition, your rationalization process may include reflecting on the fact that your loved one's diagnosis does not define them and that while it will impact their life, your support is crucial and appreciated, even if you do not know how the journey will look like.
