Pandemic: Unsafe Environment in the Face of the Virus
Learn what we can keep in mind when returning to somewhere we might be unsafe from COVID during the pandemic.
After having done such a good job isolating and making efforts to quarantine during the pandemic, when we are asked to rejoin society and do things with others, we may be weary to be with other people again. What if there is risk of exposure? What if there are no measures in place to protect my health, others' health?
You can always try to find support where you are going. Particularly, for places like school, community or work, there might be a center or department that can provide resources to keep you safe, or implement guidelines to protect their students, citizens, or workers. If there isn't one, you can also create one. This worry about your health is probably one that others have too, so by forming a organization or group dedicated to this concern, you may gain attention and spread awareness to bring about change, if necessary.
Assert your needs and concerns, and know your rights. If you think changes need to be made where you are to protect your health and your rights, speak up! If one person doesn't listen, move on to the next person. Your health and the community's health is very important.
Lastly, get informed about what is being done where you are and also about what is going on with the pandemic. Find out what the policies and guidelines in place are and evaluate them after getting reliable information and updates about the changing virus to determine whether the current rules are satisfactory.
