Mess with your anxious thoughts like they mess with you 😋

Creator: @cheerfulIceCream

I will tell you something magical. All your thoughts aren't entitled to be true! Thoughts are just thoughts, they are very much subjective to be false a they're to be true. Rather than treating your thoughts as facts, see them as what they are — assumptions, and question them. When you have an anxious thought or belief, you can ask yourself the following questions. (You can pick some right now, even if you're not currently experiencing them and mess with them! 😋)
â—‡ What are related facts?

â—‡Are there facts that support my anxious thoughts?

â—‡Are there facts that don't support my anxious thoughts?

â—‡Are the facts supporting my anxious thoughts solid or could they support other thoughts?

â—‡Am I using exaggerating words? (I.e. always, never, forever, must etc.)

â—‡What could be a different way of viewing this situation?

â—‡What's the bigger picture?

â—‡Were there times when I experienced anxious thoughts that didn't come true?

â—‡Am I seeing this black and white?

â—‡Do I know for sure that my thoughts will come true?

Allow yourself to examine all the evidences using at least 4 of the questions mentioned above, you might end on the stance that the thought wasn't true. And this realisation will likely help reduce your anxiety.Â
