Breaking the Autopilot Mode by Subtraction
We lead such busy lives that it can be easy to miss the little things that are important. This makes gratitude challenging. If we do stop to evaluate and be more mindful about our path to happiness, we may tend to be inclined to focus on more things including PERMA elements. Although this reflection and action may be useful, it does not allow the role of gratitude. However, this step invites you to return back to your strengths to invite the practice of gratitude whilst seeking to flourish.
For this activity, think of one of your signature strengths you defined earlier during this growth path. Remind yourself how this strength has led to PERMA: positive emotions, engagement, relationships, meaning, and accomplishment. Imagine that you cannot use this useful strength for 1 entire month. How would this change your life? Use the box below to share your reflections.
