Beautify your Listener Profile Bio and Pic

Why is bio important?

This is the face of you AND our 7 Cups community. People are looking at your bio and deciding if you are a good fit for them and thinking about 7 Cups as a whole. We need to come together to show our members just how awesome we are as a community and how awesome you are as a person and listener.

How do I make my Listener bio the best it can be?

Do:

1. Be honest - be you!
2. Think about how you want members seeking support to feel and show that to them in your bio.
3. Be creative.** Add some formatting/links/stories/quotes. 
4. Remember that this is what people think of you in our community. You can tell a lot about a person by what their bio includes.
5. Show a little bit about who you are as a person and not just a Listener. Only share how much you are comfortable with, of course.
6. If you are taking a break, add that to your bio so both Listeners and Members know!
7. Browse Listener Profiles and look out for what catches your eye to get more ideas for your bio!

**Creativity for some does not include any formatting, links, stories, or anything. It may be simple! Being simple is okay. :)

Don't:

1. Give any personal contact information/social media links.
2. Mention that you are a therapist, doctor, nurse, counsellor, crisis practitioner, psychiatrist, psychotherapist, life coach etc. (All listeners on the site are supposed to play the role of just the listeners, regardless of their profession in offline life.)
3. Use any inappropriate language.
4. Give a member a reason to not want to contact you. That should be easy.
5. Leave it blank.
6. Go too lengthy. Making your bio too long will cause members to lose interest or feel overwhelmed.
7. Offer advice.

Why is a Listener profile picture important?

This pictures is the first (even before your listener bio) impression a member has on you. This picture shows who you are as a person.

How do I make my Listener profile picture the best it can be?

Do:

1. Show who you are as a person. This may be a picture of you or not.
2. Feel comfortable showing anyone in the entire world this picture. Imagine you are applying to the biggest job of your life and you must attach your Listener profile picture to the application. If you would not be okay doing that, do not upload it as your picture.
3. Display warmth, compassion, empathy, kindness, and hope in your picture
4. Report ANY pictures that are not appropriate to community@7cups.com
   

Don't:

1. Upload any pictures that are triggering, sexually explicit, unprofessional, or otherwise not fit for this site. (Remember that abusing this feature may lead to the deactivation of your listener account and thus should be treated with respect.)
2. Choose a picture of yourself that can be found on other sites to retain anonymity.
