Accepting Your Diagnosis
An MDS or chronic illness diagnosis comes with lots of physical, emotional, and mental challenges. Accepting your diagnosis may come with different initial thoughts and feelings, but may come with some common challenges such as:
- Feeling shocked and angry
- Feeling guilt and grief
- Feeling confused and lost
While coping with all the changes that your diagnosis brings can look very different for each individual, it is important to remember that you are not alone. Being used to all the changes takes time, and on an emotional or mental level, coping may need to be an ongoing process.
