The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Yelm, WA is dedicated to cultivating a community of skilled advocates and teachers who support a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Through our comprehensive program, we empower selected Fellows to engage in hands-on learning and practical experiences at our thriving farm, emphasizing the importance of organic food system education. During the Fellowship, participants will not only grow and distribute diverse crops but also implement innovative educational sessions in health care and maintain school gardens. Our initiative fosters food and ecological literacy, enhances access to healthy foods, and supports local farmers markets. With no tuition barriers, we ensure accessibility for all aspiring community leaders. Fellows embark on a six-month immersive study followed by a Community Action Year where they apply their skills in collaboration with local non-profits to effect tangible change in the food landscape. Applications are accepted until March, with the Fellowship running from May through October.
