The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Veradale, WA, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates for a just and sustainable food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this program offers a transformative, tuition-free educational experience that empowers Fellows with essential knowledge in organic farming, food distribution, and community engagement. Throughout the six-month, hands-on Fellowship at the Allegheny Farm Campus, participants engage in diverse activities such as growing and distributing crops, implementing innovative health education, maintaining gardens, and promoting food literacy in schools. After their immersive training, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, applying their skills in collaboration with local non-profits to enhance access to healthy foods and support community food coalitions.
