Monroe, WA US
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Monroe, WA, is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to advocate for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. We offer a free, tuition-free program that makes our comprehensive organic food system education accessible to all. Our Fellows engage in hands-on learning experiences at the Allegheny Farm, where they will grow and distribute diverse crops, implement innovative health care education sessions, maintain community gardens, and promote food literacy in schools. Additionally, they will support farmers markets and enhance direct-to-consumer programs, all while developing strategies to improve access to nutritious food in partnership with local non-profits. Over six months, selected participants immerse themselves in valuable, practical training, followed by a year focused on community action. Applications are accepted through March, with the fellowship experience running from May to October. Join us in creating a fair and sustainable food system for everyone in our community.
