The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Lake Stevens, WA, is dedicated to cultivating leaders who advocate for a more equitable food system. Through comprehensive training, this fellowship empowers participants to become effective educators and advocates for agricultural practices that prioritize social, environmental, and economic justice. The program offers organic food system education and engages community Fellows in diverse activities, including growing and distributing crops, implementing innovative health education sessions, maintaining community gardens, and enhancing food literacy in schools. Together with local partners, Fellows support farmers markets, establish distribution channels for healthy foods, and mentor future cohorts. This immersive six-month residential experience at the Allegheny Farm Campus is complemented by a Community Action Year, where Fellows apply their skills with regional non-profits. With a commitment to accessibility, the Fellowship charges no tuition, ensuring that passionate individuals can contribute to a stronger, fairer food system without financial barriers.
