The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Bellingham, WA, is dedicated to nurturing a new generation of advocates for a just food system that prioritizes social equity, environmental sustainability, and economic viability. This fellowship offers immersive training and hands-on experience in organic food systems, enabling selected Fellows to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement innovative health education, maintain community gardens, and enhance food literacy within schools. By mentoring future cohorts and collaborating with local non-profit organizations, Fellows will not only deepen their understanding of food systems but also actively contribute to the community's access to healthy food through farmers' markets and other direct-to-consumer initiatives. The program is designed to be accessible, as there are no tuition fees, and it involves a six-month experiential residency followed by a Community Action Year. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October.
