The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in South Boston, VA provides a transformative opportunity for individuals to become passionate advocates for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this Fellowship offers comprehensive, tuition-free training in organic food systems and equips Fellows to teach and engage communities on crucial topics such as food and ecological literacy. Through a hands-on, experiential six-month residency at the Allegheny Farm Campus, participants engage directly with diversified crop production, manage community gardens, and foster partnerships with local non-profits. Following their training, Fellows enter a Community Action Year, applying their newfound knowledge to drive innovative health initiatives, support local farmers markets, and increase access to fresh, healthy food. Applications are accepted until March annually, with the program running from May to October, positioning participants to make a meaningful impact in their communities.
