At the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Poquoson, VA, we are dedicated to training and empowering individuals to champion a food system that promotes social, environmental, and economic justice. Our Fellowship offers a comprehensive, tuition-free program that emphasizes organic food system education, equipping selected Fellows with the skills to promote healthy, sustainable practices in their communities. Throughout a six-month residential experience at our Allegheny Farm Campus, participants engage in hands-on learning that includes growing and distributing diverse crops, developing community gardens, and implementing educational initiatives for health care innovation. Following this immersive training, Fellows enter a Community Action Year, collaborating with local non-profit organizations to apply their knowledge in real-world settings. We believe in fostering a supportive network that enables the next generation of food advocates, mentors, and leaders to expand access to nutritious foods and strengthen our local food systems. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October.
