The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Madison Heights, VA, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of advocates and educators who are committed to building a socially, environmentally, and economically just food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this transformative fellowship offers an enriching six-month program at the Allegheny Farm Campus where selected Fellows receive hands-on training in organic food system education. Without any tuition fees, we prioritize accessibility as our Fellows engage in diverse initiatives, such as growing and distributing crops, enhancing community gardens, and integrating food and ecological literacy into local schools. This fellowship extends into a Community Action Year, where Fellows collaborate with regional non-profits to ensure greater access to healthy foods and support for local farmers markets. We invite passionate individuals to apply by March each year, with opportunities beginning in May, to make a meaningful impact in their communities.
