The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Louisa, VA, offers a transformative opportunity for individuals passionate about creating a just and sustainable food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this Fellowship empowers participants to become advocates and educators in organic food systems, all free of tuition to ensure accessibility. Over six months, selected Fellows engage in hands-on, experiential learning at the Allegheny Farm Campus, where they cultivate diversified crops, implement innovative health education, and promote food and ecological literacy in schools and communities. Participants also mentor the next generation of leaders and contribute to local initiatives such as farmers markets and community gardens. Following their immersive training, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to enhance access to healthy food and support community food coalitions.
