Over six months, selected Fellows engage in hands-on, experiential education at the Allegheny Farm, where they actively participate in diverse agricultural practices alongside community partners. The program emphasizes organic food system education, supporting initiatives such as crop distribution, school gardens, and innovative health care education. Additionally, Fellows will contribute to farmers markets, enhance access to healthy food, and support community food coalitions. Following their immersive experience, Fellows will spend a Community Action Year, applying their knowledge in collaboration with regional non-profits, allowing them to directly impact their local food systems. Applications are accepted until March, with the fellowship experience running from May to October each year.
